Style Verdict - Wal-Mart's GEORGE M.E. Line

I must say I was a bit surprised when I saw these full page ads in my September Elle. Surprised that it was WALMART. I had to take a second look. The pieces have a really polished, "not cheap" clean, and professional look. I haven't seen them or checked them out in person yet (I will) but just from the photos, George by Mark Eisen is looking pretty darn nice. Now I have to admit, these pieces are a little bit conservative for my personal taste, because like I told ya'll before, I rock more of a bohemian, downtown urban style. But I could definitely take a piece or two and put my own spin on it. The pieces range from $14.82 to $69.82

Introducing the new fall line from designer Mark Eisen, exclusively at Wal-Mart. George Apparel embodies everything you are: modern, classic and versatile. These timeless pieces won't change the way you think about fashion, just how much you're willing to spend on it.

So, I wanna know what you guys think about it. Do you like it? Hate it? Don't care? Would you buy it and wear it? I wanna know your style verdict.

I WILL be driving down to my nearest WalMart A.SAP!

$69.82 for Wal-Mart clothing...wow. The only thing is that the actual Merchandise never looks as nice as the picture. But I am in Wal-Mart almost every day. I will have to cruise on over to the clothing dept next time.

First of all, I'd like to say "Hooray" since my husband is a Wal-Mart manager! I like the George line. Last year, they had CASHMERE sweaters for around $40! I grabbed one in every color I could find (I get a discount)! Mark Eisen is really stepping up the game at Wally World and it's about time. Look at Target, kickin' their ass with all of the inexpensive designer wear.

Amen Erica... I think the cut/tailoring of the clothes is usually what tells all, and most of the time with Wally-World clothes, they need a bit of adjustment...Not to mention (aside from the cashmere sweaters they had) the materials/fabrics used are probably not the most durable (in other words- cheap). BUT, I will undoubtedly give them a shot- I'm ALL 4 A BARGAIN! I did grab a cute bikini from Wally-World as a last minute pick up, turned out it's pretty cute after all.... I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, so the verdict is: STILL INNOCENT until proven guilty (I'll let you all know after I try a few pieces on) ;-)

I need to see the pieces up close before I can give a "yay" or "nay", but the idea is terrific! I'm going to Wal-Mart later so I will investigate then.

I think its a good look. Its good to find stylish affordable clothing.

Wal-Mart is smart. I guess this is their answer to Target's Isaac line?

Has anyone seen the new commercial to promote this line for Wal-Mart? It is quite good. I love the song in the background. Looking to see if I can find out who sings it and/or what the title is. Any help?

Well, the Mark Eisen commercial uses a song by Persephone's Bees. I think it has Kiss in the title.

I just bought a few items from the George line this week. Wore a couple yesterday and really liked them. The quality is much better than I expected.

I'm not such a big fan of the clothing in these ads, actually, but I have bought a few things from this line that have held up quite well so far.

Also, to the user who commented about the $40 cashmere sweaters.... the last time I was in Wal-Mart (about a week ago) they had Men's 100% Cashmere V-neck Sweaters (in all sorts of colors, too) for only... $26!! O_O

I usually shop at Macy's, Gap and old navy for the kids. But I now love the George line at wal-Mart! have a few pieces including a dress that i received rave reviews from friends for! even bought a pair of adorable flats - red! love them too! nice clothes from this line for kids too! (daughter -age 5) clothes are tailored cute and none of that bling-bling crap! similar styling to gap (this past summer my daughter had a complete george outfit on and while at a birthday [arty another little girl had on almost the exact same outfit - all gap) The mom actually commented that she didn't see the shorts in turquoise! Ha!
