A Guide To Perfecting A Dramatic, Smoky Eye

The smoky eye trend is one that I don't think will ever completely fade away. A smoky eye is a dramatic eye. That being said, you probably want to practice it a couple 2, 3 times before debuting it at the New Year's Eve party if you haven't tried it before. Seriously. You don't want people laughing and whispering about you because you look like a raccoon. This is why I love the Smoky Eye Kit I recently got from Sephora. It has application tips and brushes to make acheiving this look so much easier. The dome smudge brush is my current fave. The look is most often done in grays, charcoals and blacks, but can also be done with browns, bronzes and even metallics. Check out the video below for a few tips & tricks!

The Smoky Eye Kit from Sephora (a $71 value, but you can get it for only $42!) I have it, and I love it!

Tips On Giving Practical Holiday Gifts...

I hope ya'll enjoy this video on giving "practical" holiday gifts this season. It's kinda funny. Although, I wish somebody WOULD try and give me a 4-pack of toilet paper on Christmas day in the name of giving something practical! That is unless I was completely out of toilet paper and didn't really feel like running to the store to get more, well then... that's different. Because then, not only are you giving me a practical holiday gift, but you're also saving me a trip.

Artist Spotlight: Designs By Tuesdai...

Tuesdai Noelle is an emerging designer and artist who has a skill for creating decorative denim with her artistic rhinestone collages. With a unique twist on her design style, Tuesdai embellishes your used jeans to give them a completely hip, new, fun look! Tuesdai Noelle is definitely an artist to watch:

Tuesdai's Story...
In 2005, the vision of young collage artist and denim designer Tuesdai Noelle, of Designs by Tuesdai, emerged from urban hardship in the city of Detroit. Having been homeless and unemployed 18 months earlier, this urban princess delved into her creativity. In the kitchen, seated at an old wooden table, inspiration met opportunity and Tuesdai a true "diamond in the rough" began shining brighter than ever before. With determination and rhinestone in hand her unique handcrafted designs were drawn on pre-washed recycled jeans. In that moment, Designs by Tuesdai became more than a collection of decorative denim. It's an outreach for the "everyday" girl.

Tuesdai wanted to give the "everyday" girl an opportunity by allowing her to mail in used jeans and have them re-designed by Tuesdai--and that's precisely what she did! She has certainly had her share of challenges and setbacks, while climbing the fashion industry ladder, yet she continues to make great strides. Truly a remarkable lady, a rising star in fashion, and a designer for the "everyday" girl, Tuesdai Noelle.

Fashion No No...

Is this a RUG or a coat?? And the white boots and gold bag on top of everthing?
I'd hate to see what she looks like from the front.

Trend Alert: Manolos For Men...

Big pimpin' player alert! Are ya'll ready for Manolo Blahnik's new line of men's shoes? A friend of mine spotted these over at [thanks Nita] and emailed it to me, and I was a little shocked to say the least...

AFTER an absence of seven years on the menswear scene,
Manolo Blahnik has dusted off his sketchbook - and created a line of men's shoes so fabulous (lol!), they are pretty much guaranteed to knock your man's socks off. The six-piece collection runs the gamut from safely stunning (the red suede Oxford brogue), to the outrageously gorgeous (in the shape of leopard print sandal, Bir). "It's not a big collection," reflects the designer, who was honoured with a CBE just a couple of weeks ago. "There are some simple sandals in beautiful materials, and a few classics - with a twist. I thought it was time to bring back some colour into the male wardrobe." Look out for the collection, due in store from February.

Wow. I can't wait to hear what ya'll think about this one.
