Two Guesses on How Much This Suit Will Set You Back...

First KMart decided to bring it, now Walmart?
I think I'm starting to look forward to the fall after all...

From double-breasted at Bottega Veneta to brocade at Balmain, pantsuits were a big story for Fall. To get the look, you could drop a couple thousand or more on a designer version, or you could head to Walmart, where Norma Kamali's sharply tailored Prince of Wales check blazer and trousers will set you back $35. No, that's not a typo.

Norma Kamali for Walmart single-breasted blazer, $20, and classic trousers, $15.

PREVIEW: The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

I swear, Andy Cohen needs to be stopped! Just when I think I've regrouped from the New Jersey Housewives (my LEAST FAVORITE group by a LONG SHOT, especially "Don Caroline" and Teresa) he brings us this. smh. Will I be watching? The chances are pretty high.

Did Black Models Get Much Shine in the September Issues?

September is January or the beginning of the year in the fashion world. Which is why fashion magazine's September issues are so freakin' oversized epic. Model Chanel Iman (below) has 8 pages all to herself in the September issue of ALLURE which is currently sitting on my desk and she looks amazing. And with the exception of ELLE Magazine (we got 10 pages over there! Woo-hoo!) other magazines didn't use as many of us black girls :( Click over to Jezebel for a partial breakdown.

Artist Spotlight: New Music Artist Carmine Davis

Recently had the chance to interview new artist Carmine Davis about his music career. He talked about how he got started, who he'd like to work with as an artist (Antoine Dodson made that list, LOVE that, lol) who his audience is, and what he's most proud of so far. Check it out below:

For the record, what name do you go by as an artist?
Carmine Davis. But you can call me Cee. :)

How long have you been pursuing music?
Professionally for only one year. I just graduated from high school a year ago. I've been affiliated with the industry, learning and growing as a business man and an artist but I had a Hannah Montana thing going on. I was a student by day, a growing musician by night. Haha.

Have you always wanted to do music? When did you have your "light bulb" moment?
I've always wanted to do music. Others might do it as a hobby or as a way to make millions, but it's who I am. I want to be an iconic entertainer, and also touch peoples lives with my music. I want to give people something to talk and think about.

Do you have a background in music?
Well, I've been writing lyrics since I was eight. I've been singing since I could talk, and I've been dancing since I could walk.

H&M Asks: Are Band Tees the Next Big Trend? [VIDEO]

I currently own two Run DMC tees. One black short sleeve with the classic Run DMC logo and one white racerback band tee with their picture on it. I feel all badass whenever I wear them. So I vote yes.

My Summer White Mini Dress...

I recently completed this simple summer white mini dress re-drafted from a blouse pattern. The inspiration for this dress can be seen in the pic below. My design changes were the length, the hem band, the ruched bodice and the halter-like back. I lined it fully with a nude knit lining, because the white was a bit see-through. Not trying to display the goods. I'm happy with it! And to my excitement and delight, I was recently notified that my dress had been published to New York Magazine's website! Beyond awesome :)

Is Brandy Going to Compete on Dancing with the Stars?

Rumor has it that Brandy Norwood (and a random list of others that includes "The Situation" and others) could be on Season 11 of "Dancing with the Stars" Could there be any truth to this? I guess we'll have to wait and see. [source]

RHONJ Season 2 Extended Reunion Show Clips [VIDEOS]

These extended, behind the scenes clips from the upcoming reunion show of The Real Housewives of New Jersey is a good example of Teresa Guidice acting like a crazed loon. When you allow yourself to get that red-hot angry at someone, you've already lost, because that person holds all kinds of power over you if they can so easily push your buttons like that. smh. For a group of grown women, this display represents epic levels of buffoonery. Epic. Levels.
And I can't wait to watch it ;)

Lauryn Hill's Awesome Comeback at Rock the Bells [VIDEO]

Now whoever taped the video below must have been right in front of the speakers because the sound quality isn't all that great, but you can still tell that Lauryn rocked it hard recently at Rock the Bells in California. This was her first U.S. appearance after a summer of European warm-up appearances. According to lots of Youtube evidence, Lauryn looked and sounded great, and was very well received. Her fans are so ready for her, myself included. She has a couple more dates scheduled for New York and D.C.

Elin Nordegren Breaks Her Silence to People Magazine...

Her divorce is final and she's ready to talk. Elin Nordegren breaks her nine-month silence in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE magazine. The 2010 Miss Universe Pageant in Under 3 Minutes [VIDEO]

A quick look at the glitz, glamor, and cutthroat competition at the Miss Universe 2010 pageant.

Christie Brinkley & Donna Karan Both in Donna Karan.

Former model Christie Brinkley and designer Donna Karan showed up to the recent Heat Hamptons Benefit with the same Donna Karan dress on. Great for Donna Karan! Not as great for Christie Brinkley, but they both look like they didn't mind. Plus the dress is styled differently on both ladies, so... there's that.

I remember going to my Junior prom and seeing this chick with the exact same dress as mine. My dress had black trim and her dress trim was green. But still. It was the SAME DRESS. So I kinda know how that feels, from Christie's perspective. I just imagine it has to be light years different to be the actual designer wearing your own dress to an event and then to see someone else with the same dress on but it's YOUR DESIGN. That right there's priceless. Oh, and I'm totally gonna be just like Donna Karan and ditch wearing a bra all together when I get her age. Gotta respect that kind of freedom.

Tiger and Elin Finalize Their Divorce.

via People:
After months of speculation, the marriage between Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren Woods is officially over: The couple were present at Bay County Circuit Court in Panama City, Fla., Monday for the execution of their divorce agreement.

"We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future," they said in a statement released by Nordegren's Virginia-based law firm of McGuireWoods. Phat Fashions is owned by the Kellwood corporation, which will end their partnership with Kimora on September 1. Kimora will continue designing her other three fashion lines, including KLS, Kouture by Kimora, and Fabulosity, her JCPenney juniors' line. She also still has her own reality show, fragrances, and probably lots more stuff not named here.

Older (More Fabulous) Broads Cover Mags September Issues.

via NYMag:
Some reporters have noticed that a few ladies over the age of 40 grace the year's biggest covers of some of the world's biggest fashion magazines. Julia Roberts is on September's Elle at age 42, Jennifer Lopez is on Glamour at age 41, Jennifer Aniston is on Harper's Bazaar at age 41, and Halle Berry is on Vogue at age 44. It's sad that four women over 40 landing fashion-magazine covers is a shocking thing that results in numerous articles pointing to the motif. Of course the women make sense for the fall season, which felt much more about womanliness than girlishness for the first time in a very long time. But the Daily News' peachiness over these women on these covers feels misplaced.

LeBron James Covers GQ Mag's September Issue...

In an interview with GQ, LeBron James opened up and discussed Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert, the possibility of playing for the Cavaliers again and growing up in Akron, Ohio.

James said he doesn't think Gilbert, who bashed James in a letter immediately after he announced his decision to sign with the Miami Heat, ever cared about him.

"My mother always told me: 'You will see the light of people when they hit adversity. You'll get a good sense of their character.' Me and my family have seen the character of that man," James said. Continue reading this article HERE.

What's Next for Beyonce?

via The Daily Mail:
Beyoncé is American royalty, and an audience with her is not just a pleasure, it’s a privilege. The 28-year-old is the most successful performer of the past ten years, with 64 gold and platinum certifications for sales, and 16 Grammys (13 as a solo artist and three with Destiny’s Child). With husband Jay-Z, she forms Forbes magazine’s top-earning Hollywood couple (between them they earned around £80 million from June 2008-2009), with impressive connections from Hollywood to the White House (Jay-Z is said to have Obama on speed dial, and Beyoncé was chosen to sing at the President’s Inaugural Ball). We meet for an exclusive YOU interview on the day of the US launch of her first signature perfume, Heat, which will be celebrated later that evening with a ‘private party’ (the guest list reads like a Who’s Who of popular music, with David Bowie and Usher among those expected to attend).

Macy's Launching a "Glee" Clothing Line...

via AHN: As “Glee” fandom and anticipation for its upcoming second season hits a fever pitch, Macy’s along with Fox Consumer Products is rolling out their exclusive “Glee” apparel line this week.

Hitting all Macy’s stores on August 15th, fans of the show can pretend their going back-to-school to William McKinley High with their Cheerios athletic gear, fashion tops, and hoodies.

Among the items featured in the line, which will range from $19.99 to $34.99, are “Glee” logo tees and screen-printed tops featuring lyrics and phrases like “Don’t Stop Believing.”

“’Glee’ fans or ‘Gleeks’ just don’t watch the show, ¬they live it,” said Robert Marick, EVP of Fox Consumer Products. “This retail launch will provide fans a very personal way to extend the ‘Glee’ experience and express their own ‘Glee’ personality. Macy’s has treated this launch as the kind of event that is a true homage to the show.”

Select Macy’s stores in Herald Square, NY, Union Square, CA, State Street, IL, Miami Dadeland, FL, South Coast Plaza, Orange County and the Beverly Center in Los Angeles will all feature special in-store displays including actual wardrobes from the show.

While the Macy’s shoppers can go back-to-school with “Glee” this week, “Glee” won’t return to Fox with the premiere of its second season, which is set to feature nods to Britney Spears and “Rocky Horror Picture Show,” until September 21st.

Public Runway Show Planned During Fashion's Night Out '10.

via Hint Mag: Good news for anyone with $25 to spare, but lacking Fashion Week invites. You, too, can get in on the action this season. As announced today at Mayor Bloomberg’s Fashion’s Night Out press conference, Anna Wintour & co. have invited the masses to attend The Show, a “public fashion show” at Lincoln Center on September 7, with proceeds benefiting the NYC AIDS Fund. Nearly 1000 retailers, designers and brands have already jumped on the official five-borough FNO bandwagon slated for September 10, so the estimated 150 models, 1500 guests and the season's "best trends" featured in the runway show three days earlier are the cherry on the cake. Of course, those best trends will have to be Vogue-mandated and whittled down to only the most important, “so that no matter what their style or budget, shoppers will have a source of inspiration,” Wintour explained. We can only presume that includes faux fur, for those lacking the editrix’s hefty clothing allowance.

Mary J. Blige Scores (BIG!) with Her First Fragrance Launch.

via People:

She’s already scored eight multi-platinum albums, but this weekend, Mary J. Blige topped another kind of chart, launching her debut scent to record-shattering sales. In a series of live on-air spots on Saturday, the singer presented her fragrance, My Life, on HSN in what became the network’s biggest-ever single-day fragrance launch with over 60,000 units sold over six hours.

Despite the scent’s instant success, the former “tomboy” didn’t always expect perfume to be in the cards. “I wasn’t always info fragrance,” she admitted to PEOPLE. “I wasn’t even into makeup when I was young. I started getting into makeup and perfume when I was about 18 or 19 years old. I had some really bad perfumes until I found one that I loved.” Her trial-and-error experience gave her a solid background for creating the scent with beauty brand Carol’s Daughter. The finished product, a juice that includes notes like gardenia petal, bartlett pear, tuberose, jasmine and cashmere woods, is housed in a gold-capped heart-shaped bottle and was specially priced during the program at $46 rather than its standard $55 purchase price.

But it’s not just her music fans who can’t get enough of the scent–Hollywood itself seems enamored, with famous friends like Oprah Winfrey and Naomi Campbell making special call-in cameos during Mary’s debut. Missed it? Check in with to find out when Blige’s spots will be re-aired–and check out the newest issue of PEOPLE for more on Mary J.’s beauty philosophy. –Katherine Kluznik Rentmeester; reporting by Samantha McIntyre

Harper's Bazaar Sept. Issue: Jen Aniston as Barbra Streisand.

via People:
Jennifer Aniston is one funny lady – but in a new photo shoot she's channeling Funny Girl star Barbra Streisand. Aniston, who is a Streisand superfan, didn't need much convincing to dress up like one of her idols for the September issue of Harper's Bazaar.

Another pic from Jennifer Aniston's 2010 Harper's Bazaar September Issue Magazine HERE.

In fact, San Fernando Valley-born Aniston, 41, who stars in the Aug. 20 movie release The Switch, was already intimately acquainted with the Brooklyn-born Oscar-, Grammy-, Emmy- and Tony-winning superstar, 68.

"[Barbra] was wonderful, and you could talk to her about anything," Aniston tells the magazine about meeting Streisand at a Hollywood party on New Year's Eve a few years ago. "So, I happened to be talking to her and Jim [Streisand's husband, actor James Brolin] when it struck midnight. They said, 'Excuse us,' kissed each other, and then, very politely, kissed me.'"
